CPU: cpuminer-opt
The one to use on a CPU. Still maintained, with a Windows download on every release and a straightforward build on Linux, macOS and BSD. Allium is in its algorithm list.
cpuminer -a allium -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u ADDRESS -p x
Garlicoin uses the Allium algorithm, so ordinary GPUs and CPUs can mine it. Here are live network numbers, a calculator, and who is finding blocks right now.
Enter your miner's Allium hashrate. Results use the live network hashrate and price, and assume both stay the same.
Pools pay small amounts often, minus their fee. Solo mining pays the full block reward, but only when you find a block.
Run your own node (see run a node) with server=1 and RPC login details in garlicoin.conf, then point a getblocktemplate-capable miner at it with your address as the payout. You keep the whole reward, but at low hashrates a block can take a long time to find.
Every miner here has Allium built in and offers a ready-made download. Replace POOL:PORT and ADDRESS with your pool's stratum address and your GRLC address, and check your pool's page for the exact port and password it expects. Most pools use x as the password.

cpuminer -a allium -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u ADDRESS -p x
The widely used CUDA miner by tpruvot. Allium arrived in 2.2.6, and the last release is 2.3.1 built for CUDA 10. It runs on GeForce cards from Kepler to Turing; newer cards work on Linux if you build it against your CUDA version.
ccminer -a allium -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u ADDRESS -p x
A build of ccminer made for Garlicoin's switch to Allium in 2018, with Windows 64-bit, Windows 32-bit and Linux downloads. Handy for older GPUs that the CUDA 10 build no longer runs on. Needs a card with compute capability 3.0 or better.
ccminer-x64 --algo=allium -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u ADDRESS -p x
A branch of sgminer tuned for AMD GCN cards with Allium and the rest of the Lyra2 family. Released in 2022, with Windows and Linux downloads. Needs the AMD drivers with OpenCL.
sgminer --algorithm allium -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u ADDRESS -p x -I 14
The original Allium build of sgminer from 2018, with Windows and Linux downloads. Slower than the fancyIX branch on modern cards but it runs on almost anything with OpenCL. Lower -I if the card is unstable.
sgminer --algorithm allium -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u ADDRESS -p x -I 13
Any of these miners can mine against your own node, but cpuminer-opt makes it easiest. Run Garlicoin Core with server=1, rpcuser and rpcpassword in garlicoin.conf, then point the miner at it with your payout address. See run a node.
cpuminer -a allium -o http://127.0.0.1:42068 -u RPCUSER -p RPCPASSWORD --coinbase-addr=ADDRESS
Not on the list because they do not do Allium: T-Rex, WildRig Multi, SRBMiner, TeamRedMiner, lolMiner, GMiner, NBMiner and XMRig. If one of them adds it, tell us on Discord. Hashrates to expect: a modern CPU manages a few hundred kH/s, a mid-range GPU a few MH/s, against a network of 60.8 MH/s.
Pools usually tag the blocks they find. We read the tag on every block from the last day: 2,064 blocks, updated 08:17 UTC.
zpool found 96% of blocks. When one pool controls most of the hashrate, the network depends on it staying honest and online. If you mine, choosing a smaller pool or mining solo makes Garlicoin more robust.
| Pool | Blocks | Share |
|---|---|---|
| zpool | 1,973 | |
| No tag (solo or private) | 51 | |
| Unnamed YiiMP pool | 29 | |
| PowerPool | 8 | |
| Unnamed Miningcore pool | 3 |
"Unnamed" pools run common pool software but don't put their name in the block. Untagged blocks are usually solo miners. We list pools only by what the blocks say and don't vouch for any of them. Also available as mining.json.
Share of each day's blocks (each week's, over a year) by pool, from the same coinbase tags as the table above.
